5 Tips on How to Get Comfortable in Front of the Camera
#1 Look and Feeling Confident
When you’re wearing your favorite outfit, your mood likely changes a bit. This is the mood that will make you feel confident on camera. Now, we’re not saying you always have to be dressed to the best to shoot video content but it does help push through a confidence barrier, especially if you’re new to making Reels or TikToks.
#2 Try Out a Filter
We’re all for filming natural if you want or trying out filters. Either way the video content gets filmed and the job gets done. Do whatever makes you feel your best! We use filters a lot. They help adjust the lightning of our videos when we’re filming and make us feel more confident. It also adds an extra effect to your video which can increase your reach and engagement.
#3 Prep
The best way to find trending reel sounds is to take 10-15 min to watch Reels or TikToks and get inspiration. You’ll quickly pick up on what sounds are being used often and IG even tells you if they’re trending with an upwards arrow next to the sound. Watching other people’s videos can help you come up with a video content idea that you feel good about and are excited to do. We usually scroll until we find a sound we like and then think “how can I make this relevant to my biz and target audience?”
#4 Start With Short Audio Trends
Lip sync audios with minimal words are usually the easiest and a great way to start out. It tells you exactly what to say and usually you can get an idea of what to do with your hands by watching other videos with the same audio. Once you get comfortable with audio lip sync trends, start working in some original audio. Original audio is great for educational content because you can describe everything in your own words.
#5 Remembering that Nobody is Perfect
Embrace the little errors. Don’t worry about making your video “perfect” because nobody is. Be kind to yourself and just know that there are a million other business owners out there feeling the same way as you.
