How To Make Content Creation Easier & Less Overwhelming

For anyone who creates content for social media, you know how overwhelming and draining it can be if you’re not planning ahead. As business owners, we completely understand the never-ending to-do list. If you feel like you’re constantly putting social media on the back burner, you’re not alone! Most of our clients come to us because they need to create more time and space for their business and that’s what we are here for! But regardless of whether you’re looking to invest in outsourcing or not, we want to help bring the fun of social media back! That starts with simplifying the content creation process. Here’s six tips to create content more efficiently and keep your social media game strong!

Batch Out Your Content

Do you feel like you’re constantly scrambling to create posts? Batching is your new best friend. Set aside specific times to create multiple pieces of content in one go. This way, you can get into a creative flow without constantly switching tasks. For example, dedicate Monday mornings to writing captions and Tuesday afternoons to editing photos. We suggest aiming to batch content at least 2 weeks at a time. That way can have a little break in between and it makes it a lot easier to manage. By batching your tasks, you'll save time and reduce stress.

Pick One Day to Film Content

If you’re a business owner, you’re likely not photo ready every single day (no shame in lounge wear around here!). Filming content can be time-consuming, especially when you’re doing it sporadically and without a plan. Choose one day each week or month to plan on the content you want to post and grab any clips you might need. This is a great time to film b-roll content that you can store in a folder to easily grab later. This way, you’ll always have content ready to go, making it easier to stay consistent with your posting schedule.

Keep an Idea Log for Inspiration

There is nothing worse than when you know you need to post content, but you conveniently get writers block or can’t come up with any content ideas. To prevent that from happening, we suggest keeping a folder of content that inspires you so that you can go there when you need an extra boost. Plus, if you’re like us, you come up with the best content ideas at the most random times. We like to keep a notes sheet with content ideas so that anytime we think of something we want to create, we can jot it down and we won’t forget about it later!

PLEASE NOTE: this goes without saying, but we are in no way saying to copy other’s content. We are all for using content you find as INSPIRATION for you own, but never copy and idea exactly or word for word. Here’s more on our take on this!

Repurpose Your Content

Working smarter, not harder applies to social media as well. We highly encourage you to check in on your analytics to see what has performed well in the past and repurpose it into new formats. In fact, you can even take a content idea that didn’t perform well and try it in a new format to see if that performs better. For example, if you’ve posted a reel with educational tips, try turning it into a carousel. If you posted a hot take that didn’t get as much engagement as you would like, try rewording it and post it again to see if that resonates better. At the end of the day, social media is mostly trial and error so there is nothing wrong with posting about the same topic multiple times! This not only maximizes the value of your content but also ensures your audience sees your message in various engaging ways.

Utilize Templates and Branding

Repeat after us: you do not need to create a new template for every graphic you create! It is actually better if you don’t. You want your content to be recognizable to your audience. We always say that your audience should know the content is yours without having to see your handle. his not only saves time but also ensures a cohesive look across all your platforms. We highly recommend investing good branding to make your content instantly recognizable to your audience. This has not only been a game changer for us (shout out to our girl, Karli!) but also for our clients who have hired us once they have professional branding in place.

Hire a Social Media Manager

Y’all know we couldn’t create this blog article without adding in a shameless plug for our social media management services. 😉 But truly, if content creation is taking up too much of your time or you’re struggling to keep up with the demands, consider hiring a social media manager (whether that be us or someone else!) A professional can help streamline your content strategy, create and schedule posts, engage with your audience, and provide insights to improve your social media presence. This investment can free up your time and allow you to focus on other important aspects of your business.

By implementing these strategies, you can make content creation more manageable and less stressful. Remember, the key is to find a system that works for you and stick with it.

So with that, happy creating! 💛
